Dear friends,

I am pleased to announce an exciting parish social event which will take place on Saturday 9th May 2026: a joint dinner with parishioners from St Timothy’s, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA, at Le Beaujolais restaurant in Litchfield Street.

We will be visited that weekend by a group of pilgrims from St Timothy’s Church, Winston-Salem, where Fr Steve Rice is the parish priest. They will be visiting other pilgrim sites in England as part of their trip, including the Shrine at Walsingham, and will spend the weekend in London.

Fr Steve Rice is well known to our parish. He is a splendid friend and supporter of All Saints’ and has been very generous indeed to our parish’s clergy when they have visited St Timothy’s. Fr Alan will be there in Winston-Salem over the weekend of 14th-15th March March to preach and teach.

Fr Steve will preach at the High Mass here on Sunday 10th May, and the group from St Timothy’s will be with us for that liturgy. Fr Steve is an outstanding homilist and I am sure many will look forward to hearing him again in our pulpit.

For the Saturday night, we have taken over the downstairs dining room at Le Beaujolais which seats 30 people. Fr Steve’s group from St Timothy’s will be 11 in total, which leaves 19 places for All Saints’ parishioners. I hope the evening will be a terrific opportunity for us to welcome our guests from America and for us to get to know one another in a convivial atmosphere.

There will be a drinks reception in the Vicarage from 6.00 pm, and we will then make our way to Le Beaujolais in time for dinner at 7.30 pm.

The cost of the dinner, which includes three courses, coffee, tip and wine is £65. I am very grateful indeed to the Parish Bar for agreeing to fund the wine from its profits at this meal.

To book your place, simply sign up and pay via this eventbrite link here.

I look forward to welcoming the pilgrim group from St Timothy’s, and to seeing our good friend Fr Steve Rice again. It will be a splendid opportunity for parishioners from our two churches to get to know one another and I urge you to sign up for the dinner quickly before all the tickets go.

Fr Peter

Please keep our confirmation candidates in your prayers as they begin their catechesis classes in preparation for Bishop Jonathan’s visit on 28th June.

Fidelium Mid-week Lenten Retreat

Fidelium, a network for young adults in parishes under the care of the Bishop of Fulham is organising a mid-week Lenten retreat at St Andrew’s Holborn. Details below. Please be in touch with Charlotte Choley-Kovacevic if you want to know more or would like to attend.

Shadowland Theatre Trip

There will be a parish Lent trip to the theatre to see Shadowlands on the evening of Thursday 5th March at 7.30 pm.

The play is about the life of Christian author, philosopher and apologist C.S. Lewis and his falling in love in later life with Joy Gresham, whom he eventually married. Tickets are limited and cost £55 each. You can book a ticket and pay here.

The theatre trip will be followed by a teaching evening about C.S. Lewis’ writings on Tuesday 8th March. It will be led by Fr Alan and Fr Peter and will be particularly focussed on his book Mere Christianity (which it would be useful for those attending the session to have read). All are welcome at the teaching evening and you don’t have to have seen the play to participate.

Book and pay for your tickets for Shadowlands here.

Night Shelter Volunteers

Many thanks indeed to all who have volunteered to staff the cold weather night shelter this season at the American International Church on Tottenham Court Road.

We are still looking for volunteers for the night of Wednesday 18th/Thursday 19th March, which will be the last shelter of the current winter season for which we are responsible. Please be in touch with Fr Alan if you would like to volunteer.

Huge thanks to all those who volunteered at our Winter Homeless Shelter last Wednesday. We fed and gave a bed for the night to 15 guests.

Palm Crosses

Fr Alan is collecting old palm crosses to be burned to make the ashes for Ash Wednesday. Please hand them in to him or simply post them through the Parish Office letter box.
