Weekly Email – Easter 4
Documents
Dear friends,
May I remind you all that our revision of our parish’s electoral roll closes tomorrow? This weekend is the last opportunity we have to add any new names. If you wish to put yourself on the roll, please email your filled in form to the parish office (office@asms.uk) or Daniel Fielden by last thing on Saturday 25th April.
The newly revised electoral roll will then be available for any parishioners who wish to inspect and will be presented at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting which takes place on Sunday 17th May.
The usual parish annual reports and accounts will shortly be presented to the PCC which meets on Thursday 30th April in preparation for the APCM.
If you added yourself to the electoral roll this time last year, don’t worry – you don’t need to do anything, as your name will remain on it.
You only need to act if you are not already on the electoral roll. If that’s the case, please make sure you fill in a copy of the electoral roll form which is enclosed with this email.
It is important that all regular worshippers are on our electoral roll so it forms an accurate picture of our congregation’s make-up.
To join the electoral roll you need to have worshipped at All Saints’ in person regularly for at least 6 months, be baptized, over 16 years of age, and consider yourself a member of the Church of England, (or of a church in communion with the Church of England, or of another Church that believes in the Doctrine of the Holy Trinity).
I would like to thank Daniel Fielden for all he does to keep our electoral roll up to date, and for the hard work he has put into this revision. All Saints’ is very grateful to him for this particular work of service to our PCC.
Fr Peter

You can watch the High Mass for Easter 3 again here.
Joint dinner with St Timothy’s, Winston-Salem: only 7 tickets left.
We look forward to welcoming a group of pilgrims from St Timothy’s, Winton-Salem, North Carolina, over the weekend of 9th-10th May 2026. Their Rector, Fr Steve Rice, will be our preacher on the Sunday morning at our parish High Mass.
There will be a special joint parish dinner at Le Beaujolais restaurant on Saturday 9th May 2026. There will be a drinks reception in the Vicarage from 6.00 pm, and we will then make our way to Le Beaujolais in time for dinner at 7.30 pm. The cost of the dinner, which includes three courses, coffee, tip and wine is £65.
There are now only 7 tickets left for parishioners of All Saints’. To book your place, simply sign up and pay via this eventbrite link here.

The Bishop of Berlin-Brandenburg visited London last week as part the ecumenical partnership between the Diocese of London and the Church of Berlin-Brandenburg. During his week in London, Bishop Stäblein saw a number of mission projects in our diocese, including the new worshipping community that meets on Sunday evenings at Holy Redeemer Clerkenwell. Fr Peter was very pleased to be able to accompany him in his new role as coordinator of the partnership for the diocese.
Bach Concert
A significant concert of music by J.S. Bach will given on Friday 29th May at 7.30 pm by our Director of Music, Stephen Farr, on harpsichord and Margaret Faultless on baroque violin as part of our Music fundraising campaign.
The concert is entitled, using Bach’s own words,” Music for connoisseurs for the refreshment of their spirits,” and will include the Goldberg Variations along with chamber music for violin and harpsichord.
Tickets are £20 per head and can be bought here.

Many congratulations to Daniel Formston who sub-deaconed for the first time on Sunday.
Rachmaninov Sunday
Sunday 7th June 2026, will be a special festival Sunday devoted to the musical connections our parish has with Sergei Rachmaninov.
The Sunday will include music at all the liturgies by Rachmaninov, including his Mass in Bb which was performed for the first time at All Saints’ in November 1915.
It will be a particular delight and honour to have Bishop Rowan Williams as our preacher at the High Mass.
After the High Mass there will then be two short lectures given by Professor Ian Quinn and Professor Geoffrey Norris about Rachmaninov’s involvement with All Saints’, and his Mass of St John Chrysostom.
Our Rachmaninov Day will conclude with Evensong and Benediction with works from our parish’s distinct repertoire inspired by the composer.

The Bishop of Berlin-Brandenburg’s visit to the Diocese of London concluded last week with his participation in a panel discussion at the House of Lords focussed on reconciliation, the healing of wounds, memory and remembrance, and the rise in hatred and racism in our world.
