Dear friends,

Once again, a Happy Easter to you all. Thank you so very much to the many people involved in making the commemoration of Our Lord’s triumph over death an especially moving and joyful one.

With Easter falling late, the Ginkgo trees at the south end of Great Titchfield Street under which we gather for our Palm Sunday Procession were already beginning to bud. A promising sign for the week that was to come! A series of informative and up-building homilies from Fr Jeremy Haselock; the near matchless combination of music and liturgy; the chance to join in fellowship together as well as to welcome sisters and brothers visiting, or returning, from across the world. Thank you again to all those who have given so much, both on camera, and behind the scenes.

We will gather this Sunday, the final day of the Easter Octave, in the wake of the sad news from Rome – but what a wonderful grace the late pope was granted to be able to bless his people one last time on Easter Sunday. Two Masses of Requiem will be said here on Tuesday. God rest his soul.

After the transferred Solemnity of St George on Monday, we move shortly into May, the month the Church has traditionally associated with Our Lady. A fitting reminder in wake of our Paschal celebrations of humanity’s restoration and call to Godliness. Mary, glorified, “the treasury and president of the wealth of the Godhead”, in St Gregory Palamas’ words, is alongside us now as our celebrations of Baptism, Confirmation at the Eucharist call us on to where she has gone before us. Please pray for those at All Saints’ preparing for Baptism and Confirmation here on May 18th. And don’t miss the opportunity to join us on National Pilgrimage to Walsingham – England’s Nazareth – on May 26th – details follow below.

Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia!

For the Lord is risen indeed, alleluia!

With my love,

Fr Alan

Noon Mass tomorrow cancelled

Please note that the noon Mass tomorrow, Saturday 26th April, is cancelled.

Welcome back to All Saints’!

It is a joy this Sunday to welcome back a group of alumni from our former Choir School. The school ran from 1843 to 1968, and from the late 1850s had its home in the buildings on the west side of the courtyard. Classes of boys went on to sing at the coronations of Edward VII, Georges V and VI, and Elizabeth II.

Easter flowers

Thank you also to those who have sponsored our Easter flowers this year, of whom some have chosen to remain anonymous.

The National Pilgrimage

You pay your £30 online as part of that process. It’s as simple as that.

If you know of anyone who wants to get to the National Pilgrimage and is looking for travel from London, do please forward the Eventbrite link to them. They are more than welcome to sign up and join us as long as the can get to Margaret Street by 7.30am on 26th May.

Curry night

On Thursday, 8th May there will be an Eastertide curry night for our younger adults. It will be at Fr Alan’s house after the evening Mass. Let Fr Alan know by Sunday May 4th if you’d like to come along.
