Weekly email – Ss Peter and Paul

Dear friends,
I hope this Sunday will be a cause for great joy as we welcome Bishop Jonathan to our parish to baptize and confirm those who have been preparing for the sacraments of initiation over the past few months.
I look forward to a fresh outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit in the lives of our candidates, and to being present to witness them take this next step in their pilgrimage of faith.
Our group of catechumens is diverse and encompasses people from all walks and stages of life, with many different experiences of faith and spirituality.
What unites them is the new sense of calling from God which they have discovered at All Saints’. We should rejoice in their desire to unite themselves more deeply to Christ, to publicly proclaim their trust in him, and to deepen their sense of discipleship and commitment as they live out the graces given them in baptism and confirmation.
Please pray for Sam Sadoo and Jacinda Wheatley who will be baptized and confirmed; for Daniel Orchard, Harry Elgar, Sandy Hill, and Josh Turpin who will be confirmed.
We should also look forward to celebrating together after Sunday morning’s liturgy with a festive parish lunch. It would be great if each person could bring something to share. If you wish to do this, please be in touch with Kate Hodgetts who can suggest what might still be needed. Do make time to stay for the lunch after Mass and to celebrate with our candidates.
Please keep Sam, Jacinda, Harry, Sandy, Josh and Daniel in your prayers over the coming weekend and pray that God will be pleased to strengthen them in faith, and pour into their hearts the power of his love so that they might serve him in the world.
Fr Peter
