Dear friends,

As we rejoice together in the Resurrection, I look back on our keeping of Holy Week with profound gratitude and joy. It has been a wonderful few days in which we have journeyed together with the Lord, experiencing afresh the power of Christ’s Paschal Mystery to renew our faith, give hope to our world, and strengthen our confidence and compassion.

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who contributed in any way to the great liturgies of the past week: our servers; choir; sidesmen; flower arrangers; all those who have contributed to welcome and hospitality in any way in our courtyard and bar; our photographers and those who have worked on our social media presence and live-streaming.

I also want to express our gratitude to all those who sponsored the cost of flowers and music, and those who have contributed refreshments. Your generosity has made a huge difference.

Many people have already spoken to me about how wonderful the Triduum has been: the music was outstanding; the serving, recollected, calm, and prayerful; the welcome people have received, warm and heartfelt.

I want to say a particular word of thanks to Fr Julian for preaching so magnificently for us. His homilies have been a wonderful journey of theological discovery and profound spiritual reflection. I am grateful to him for undertaking this significant task of preaching every day. We have all hung on his every word!

All of this effort and generosity has contributed to very encouraging levels of attendance. Every day of the Triduum had higher attendance than the year before and echoes the trends of growth and renewal that we have been seeing more widely in so many other areas of our parish life. Thanks be to God that he called so many people to worship with us and to experience in our midst Christ dying and rising for us.

I look forward to celebrating with you the octave day of the Resurrection on Sunday. Let our joy be unbounded, our hope be overflowing, and our confidence in the Gospel be undiminished.  Let our love for each other be renewed by Christ the Risen One who commissions us in our Gospel reading this Sunday to be his representatives in the world: “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.”

Fr Peter

Easter Vigil 2026

Farewell Jeremiah & Happy Birthday John!

We will make a presentation this Sunday to Jeremiah Stephenson, our Associate Director of Music, to bid him farewell and mark his appointment as Associate Director of Music at St Thomas’ Fifth Avenue, New York City.  There will be an opportunity to thank him for his service to our parish at the end of the High Mass (though his actual last Sunday with us will be Sunday 19th April).

This Sunday also marks John Ford celebrating a significant birthday, and we are very grateful to him for providing champagne after the High Mass in our courtyard to celebrate. We wish him many happy returns of the day and thank him for all that he does for our parish so heroically and sacrificially – we would be lost without him!

Sunday will be a lovely opportunity to celebrate the contribution of these two important individuals who have contributed so much, in very different ways, to All Saints’.

Congratulations Tilly!

We offer our warmest congratulations to our organ scholar Matilda Johnson upon her appointment as organ scholar at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea. She will begin at the Chapel of the Chelsea Pensioners in the new academic year this autumn. There will be an opportunity later on in the summer to thank her more formally for her outstanding contribution to our parish.

Electoral Roll

The electoral roll is being updated in preparation for the Annual Parochial Church Meeting which takes place on Sunday 17th May.

If you added yourself to the electoral roll this time last year, don’t worry – you don’t need to do anything, as your name will remain on it.

If, however, you are not on the electoral roll, please make sure you fill in a copy of the electoral roll form which will be available in church on Sundays, and is also enclosed with this email.

It is important that all regular worshippers are on our electoral roll so it forms an accurate picture of our congregation’s make-up.

To join the electoral roll you need to have worshipped at All Saints’ in person regularly for at least 6 months, be baptized, over 16 years of age, and consider yourself a member of the Church of England, (or of a church in communion with the Church of England, or of another Church that believes in the doctrine of the Holy Trinity).

Please ensure all filled-in forms are returned to Daniel Fielden, our electoral roll officer, by Saturday 25th April.
