Dear friends,
I am pleased to announce that an ordinand training part time for ordination at St Augustine’s College called Petter Kringberg has been sent to All Saints’ on placement for the next three years.
He is an ordinand of the Bishop of Fulham and will be moving from his present parish to get a wider experience of the ministry of the church by being with us as he prepares for his ordination in 2028.
Petter will be with us from Sunday 1st February, so please make yourself known to him. He will from then on be present with us three Sunday mornings out of four as he has a residential training weekend once a month.
Alongside his studies, Petter will be getting experience of a range of pastoral, formational, and missional work in our parish over the coming months. He will also need to expand his experience of homiletics, and so will preach twice a year at All Saints’ as part of his placement.
I trust you will make him welcome. I look forward to working with him and seeing All Saints’ contribute to his formation.
Fr Peter
Petter writes to introduce himself:
Hello! I am Petter, a second-term ordinand at St Augustine’s College of Theology, sponsored by the Bishop of Fulham. I come to you originally from northern Sweden (my village is supposedly the largest ski resort north of the Alps – and no, I don’t ski!).
After the Swedish college/A-level equivalent followed by 15 years in Stockholm, where I worked both as the equivalent of a Blue Badge Tourist Guide and an accountant/finance manager, my rather varied past includes posts such as Parish Administrator at St Mary’s, Bourne Street, chapel intern at Pusey House, Oxford (where I first met both Fr Peter and Fr Alan), and as Operations Manager for a charity working with victims and survivors of sexual and domestic violence. Since the pandemic, I have been Parish Manager (i.e. Finance, HR & Governance Manager) at St Mary Abbots, the ancient parish church of Kensington.
I was quite active in the Lutheran church back home, and after moving to the UK my parishes have been St Mary’s, Bourne Street, Pusey House and I join you now from St Thomas, Kensal Town (where Notting Hill Carnival starts), where I have been the Reader since 2023.
In my spare time, I enjoy exploring London, reading cosy crime novels (PD James, sometime occasional worshipper at ASMS, is a special favourite), getting to know new destinations, cuisines and wines, playing the piano (badly) and trying to learn new languages (though I really should focus on getting my German back to a decent level!).
I am very much looking forward to joining you and am grateful to Fr Peter for agreeing to “take me on”. You will see me in a variety of contexts going forward, so please say hi if you do!

Zoom Theology
Join us online for our next Zoom Theology Seminar on Tuesday 27th January at 7pm about the 17th Century writer, mathematician and theologian, Blaise Pascal.
We are delighted that Dr Tomlin will join us to discuss his recent book Blaise Pascal: The Man Who Made the Modern World, which draws on his longstanding interest and extensive academic research in the field.
The seventeenth century polymath’s misunderstood ‘wager’ is only one small aspect of an extraordinary life. Although he died at 39, Pascal’s work covered numerous disciplines, and his writing explores especially movingly topics of faith, reason and human existence.
To attend, simply follow the link here. It would be useful, though not essential, to have read Bishop Tomlin’s book in preparation for the seminar.

American Friends of All Saints’
There will be a drinks party held on Friday 20th March 2026 at the House of the Redeemer, New York City at 6.30 pm to celebrate the contribution to our parish’s life made by the American Friends of All Saints’, Margaret Street.
We hope this special occasion will be an opportunity for American Friends who live in or near New York to re-connect with All Saints’ and for us to thank our American benefactors for their support. Both Fr Alan and Fr Peter will be present.
This drinks party will be proceeded by a Mass celebrated by Fr in the Chapel of the House of the Redeemer at 6.00 pm, giving thanks for the life of All Saints’, for any who wish to attend.
If you live anywhere near New York City, do put this event on Friday 20th March in your diaries and come and see us. It will be wonderful to see new friends and old. You can book a free ticket for the event via Eventbrite here.

RIP John Martell
John Martell, who worshipped at All Saints’ for many years prior to the Pandemic, died last Thursday. All are welcome at his Funeral Mass followed by burial and buffet on Thursday 19th February 2026 at 11.30am, which will take place at St Michael and All Angels, Harbledown, Canterbury, CT2 8NW. Fr Alan will be preaching.
At some point in the near future we will celebrate a Mass of Requiem at All Saints’ for people who cannot attend the funeral in Canterbury.

Our Candlemas Carol Service: a beautiful evening of hymns, music and readings proclaiming Christ as the Light of the Nations.
Fulham Lay Congress
The Bishop of Fulham is hosting a Lay Congress entitled ‘Ready with a Reason’ on 21st March 2026 at S. Alban’s, Holborn, from 10.00 am to 3.30 pm.
Bishop Linday Urwin OGS will be the keynote speaker, reflecting on sharing the Gospel with others. Please see the flyer attached for more details.
Flowers
The flowers this week before the shrine of Our Lady of Margaret Street are given by the Wright family and Pat Phillips in loving memory of Clive Wright, who died at Candlemas in 2020.

Please keep our confirmands in your prayers as they began last week their catechesis classes in preparation for baptism and/or confirmation in June. Come Holy Spirit, and fill the hearts of thy people!
